Location hunting is very important, because it suggests that when recording is ready to begin, you already understand what you are looking to record on celluloid. On a practical level, location hunting is also beneficial for preparing shooting authorisations, understanding daytime problems, sound and background aspects, along with scheduling times and dates for the shooting itself. Basically, all these aspects of preparation need to be sorted out before even anything is filmed.
